Licensing Visit

On March 15, 2010, Executive Director Esther Tijerina received staff from the Municipal DIF (Mexican Welfare/Licensing Dept.). After touring the living quarters, classrooms, kitchen and computer lab they congratulated Fernando Paulin for his design and implementation of new safety equipment and processes. They commended the staff and Esther for their continued dedication and support to the women and children who call PDV home. A celebration and fellowship ensued with the sharing of fresh fruit, cupcakes and refreshments.

Board of Directors Changes

We are pleased to announce the election of Janis Gernert to the Board of Directors of Pan de Vida, Inc. Janis is an executive with the Austin Childrens Shelter and has been an advisor to Esther at Pan de Vida for several years. She is a welcome addition to the Board, elected at the January meeting.

We would also like to thank resigning members of the Board for their service. These include Cliff Thiele, Darrell Hayslip, Ellery Buchanan, Mike McIntyre, and Stella Hannah. We wish them well as they continue their passion for helping the children of Mexico.
