My original calling was to be a missionary in Mexico City. I had just finished bible school and the Lord laid on my heart to go to Mexico City. I had no idea what I was going to do when I got there. Once there I started teaching biblical studies. Within two years those studies grew into a church of over one hundred people. After seven years the Lord enabled me to open a home for desperate people. The calling was to help people suffering from drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other needs of the spirit. Pan de Vida exists to help abandoned, deprived and vulnerable children to have the capacity to become young adults, parents and leaders who bring lasting and positive change to their communities. We do this by providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing Christian environment with access to education and job skill training. As a women's shelter working with addicted and battered women or those just leaving prison, the program structure raises these women to a place where they can succeed as mothers to their children and become established skilled workers in their community.As a feeding center for the homeless, we exist…
